Dr. John Draeger is a Professor of Philosophy at SUNY Buffalo State University and the former Director of the Teaching & Learning Center. With 25 years of teaching and 16 years of workshop facilitation experience, he helps audiences develop habits of thoughtful engagement. Co-founder of the award-winning Improve with Metacognition project and an inaugural fellow at the Institute for Citizens & Scholars, Dr. Draeger’s work on thoughtful strategies has figured in three National Science Foundation grants and two dozen publications. He divides his scholarly energies between work in social philosophy (including issues public discourse, conflicting values, and moral integrity) and work in the scholarship of teaching and learning (including high-impact practices, metacognition, and academic rigor).
